Nichetsy Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Nichetsy Chrome extension (“Extension”) and its companion API at this domain (“Service”) collect, use, and protect information when you use the Extension.

1. Who we are

2. What Nichetsy does

Nichetsy helps Etsy sellers and researchers run niche research workflows: collecting keyword data from eRank, search/listing data from Etsy, scoring niches, and generating local GO/NO-GO reports. A license key is required to use the Service.

3. Information we collect

• License key — entered by you in Extension settings; sent to our API to validate access.
• Device identifier — a random ID stored in Chrome local storage and associated with your license for abuse prevention (not your hardware serial or advertising ID from Google).
• Optional email / display name — only if an administrator enters them when creating a license on the admin panel.
• Research workflow data — seed keywords you type, and data the Extension reads from eRank and Etsy pages you open while a pipeline is running (keyword metrics, listing/shop stats used for niche scoring).
• Technical logs — pipeline/run status, timestamps, and error messages needed to operate the Service.

We do not intentionally collect government ID numbers, precise GPS location, health data, or payment card numbers through the Extension.

4. How we use information

• Validate licenses and enforce license tiers / expiry.
• Run and store research pipeline results so the Extension can continue steps and generate reports.
• Improve reliability (debugging failed runs) and prevent abuse (sharing or reselling keys).
• Respond to support requests you initiate (e.g. via WhatsApp).

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for credit scoring or lending. We do not use research data for advertising profiles.

5. Where data is stored

• On your computer: Chrome extension local storage (license key, settings, run state).
• On our server: this Hostinger-hosted API (license records and pipeline-related data in server-side storage under our control).

Reports generated by the Extension are primarily downloaded to your device as HTML files.

6. Third-party services

• eRank (members.erank.com) — the Extension reads data from pages you access while logged into your own eRank account. Your relationship with eRank is governed by eRank’s terms and privacy policy.
• Etsy (www.etsy.com) — the Extension reads publicly available listing/search information from pages you open. Your use of Etsy is governed by Etsy’s terms and privacy policy.
• Hosting — the API is hosted on Hostinger infrastructure.

The Extension does not load remote executable JavaScript from third-party CDNs for its core logic; application code ships inside the extension package. The Extension calls our API over HTTPS for license checks and data APIs (JSON), which is not “remote code.”

7. Permissions explained

• storage — save license key, settings, and run state on your device.
• tabs / activeTab / scripting — open or interact with eRank and Etsy tabs and inject content scripts needed to extract research data during a run you start.
• alarms — keep long-running pipelines alive in the background service worker.
• downloads — save niche report HTML files to your computer.
• Host access — limited to eRank, Etsy, our API domain, and localhost for development.

8. Data retention

License and associated research data are retained while your license is active and for a reasonable period afterward for support and fraud prevention, or until you request deletion. You may clear local Extension data anytime via Chrome’s extension settings or by removing the Extension.

9. Your choices

• Do not enter a license key if you do not want data sent to the Service.
• Stop a pipeline at any time with the Stop control.
• Request deletion of server-side license/research data by contacting us on WhatsApp with your license key.
• Uninstall the Extension to stop all local processing.

10. Security

We use HTTPS for API traffic. Admin functions require an admin password. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; use a strong unique license/admin password and do not share keys.

11. Children’s privacy

Nichetsy is intended for business and research users and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

12. International users

Data may be processed on servers in the regions used by our hosting provider. By using the Service you understand that processing may occur outside your country of residence.

13. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use of the Extension after changes means you accept the updated policy.
